Apple’s UNLEASHED Event LEAKED? Google Pixel 6 Extra Leaks & more! (video)

The official news today begin with press invitations from nonother than Samsung. Last night the company announced that they will be hosting a Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 Event like they did last year. This one will take place next Wednesday on October 20th, right after Google’s Pixel Event and Apple’s new Unleashed Event, more on that later. The invitation says that it will “open up new experiences for self expression through technology” which kinda makes it sound like we’re getting new hardware, but we’re entirely sure about that.. The video shows several squared color panels that come together to form some boxes with different app icons which could also hint to some software improvements, maybe the full Android 12 announcement, but given how a similar art was used for the Z Flip 3, it’s hard to predict. I doubt they’ll do an unpacked just for software, and if there is hardware, the rumored products seem to be delayed. I mean, if it’s not the S21 FE that apparently got pushed to December, then what else could it be? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
And I know I kinda sound like a broken record but, this wouldn’t be a TechTober Pocketnow Daily without any Pixel leaks so of course we have more of those for you. I know you really don’t need me to call these “design leaks” any more but, yesterday we got a new batch of Evan Blass renders for both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro that essentially showcase the new color variants from every possible angle. We also have some more details from Brandon Lee who’s had a crazy amount of insight for this roll out. He’s claiming that the official color variants will be Kinda Coral, Sorta Seafoam and Stormy Black for the Pixel 6. Then the 6 Pro will come in Sorta Sunny, Cloudy White and Stormy Black. We’re also getting a new Pixel Stand that will reportedly cost 79 bucks and charge at 23W and it includes a fan. He claims it brings a cool feature that would let you use your Pixel as a smart display when placed in the stand. Obviously the price tag is something we all want to know, and Lee claims that the Pixel 6 will cost 849 and the Pro variant will go for 1099. The event is right around the corner, so let’s see what we get.
Let’s shift gears back on to Samsung and talk about the Galaxy S22 Series as we get closer to the end of this year. A few weeks ago a ton of leaks showed that Samsung will be merging the Note into the S22 Ultra by adding the S Pen silo and going for a boxy look. Now we have some new CAD renders from Lets Go Digital after we got some leaks from Ice Universe claiming that Samsung might go for a camera layout that resembles the Galaxy Note 10 Series. These new leaks still go along with the case renders we got a while back where it’ll fit into the “P” design but, these look much cleaner than the ones we got last month. You get three cameras on one side and the extra sensor and the laser autofocus next to them in a metal frame that looks like the one on the Z Fold 3. There’s also some images of case molds going around that confirm the boxy design and the camera array. But, can I just continue to say, that red color variant looks hot. Speaking of the camera array, it’ll reportedly bring a 108MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra wide and 2 telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x optical zoom. Apparently those can range between 10 and 12MP but that isn’t confirmed yet, and there’s also a possibility that all 4 cameras will include OIS. So as we get closer to the end of the year, I think these S22 leaks are starting to actually take shape and I like where this is going, so let’s see how this evolves.
Finally, for the hottest news today, let’s talk about Apple as expected. Greg Joswiak posted an invitation at noon yesterday where you get some Star Wars-like light speed effects that say “Unleashed” and the date October 18th. So yes, we have an Apple, a Google, and a Samsung Event in the span of 3 days next week. With all that being said, let’s talk about the things we’re expecting to get. We’re not gonna go into too much detail with all of them but, new leaks claim that we can expect the macOS Monterey release date, the M1X 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros, an M1X Mac mini and the AirPods 3. Yes, AirPods are back in the rumor mill. Now, as for rumors, they just ramped up with new ones. Panda Is Bald, who was right about the 9th Generation iPad at the last event claims that AirPods will be coming along with the MacBook Pros at this event with a major redesign that resembles the current AirPods Pro. When it comes to the Mac mini, we haven’t heard much about it but, it’ll reportedly bring the same ports and features as the M1 variant but, being more of a graphics powerhouse thanks to the M1X. Finally, the MacBook Pros that I’ve really been waiting on. Dylan, who also has a pretty neat track record also claims that both of these laptops will bring miniLED displays, smaller bezels with no logo at the bottom, a 1080p webcam, and no more Touch Bar. He reiterates that we will be getting HDMI, an SD card slot and MagSafe and on an interesting twist, he claims that the base models will bring 16 Gigs of RAM and half a terabyte a storage, with pricing being similar between both models as they bring the same M1X configuration. There’s also a possibility of 120Hz display making the cut but, that might not happen. Just to recap, new MacBooks, a new Mac mini, AirPods 3, and a date for macOS Monterey.

The long-rumored third generation of AirPods finally received their much-awaited release at the Cupertino-based OEM’s Unleashed Event on October 18th. They launch alongside the brand new MacBook Pro lineup and introduce some massive changes to AirPods, which have remained pretty much the same since their introduction in 2016.
Yes, there was a refresh in 2019, which brought an improved processor enhancing its function as a pair of smart wireless earphones and a wireless charging compatible case. An upgrade we can call iterative. The 2nd generation AirPods will still be available on sale for $129.
With that, let us focus on what is new with this generation and answer some of the questions you may have, specifically those surrounding its availability and compatibility with older devices.
Pricing and Availability
The third-generation AirPods will be available for pre-order from 18th October, with deliveries and availability starting next week. The earbuds will retail for $179 and come bundled with an all-new MagSafe compatible case.
The $249 AirPods Pro have also been updated to ship with the new MagSafe Case.
Colors
As has been customary for AirPods, the earbuds are only available in the traditional white. With Apple making more and more of their products available in a plethora of colorways, we would’ve liked to see more variety, but for interested buyers, white it is.
Design
According to Apple, the third generation features an all-new design on the inside and outside. It uses a stem shape similar to AirPods Pro and has shifted to the same embedded force sensors for media control, while the head of the earbuds remains similar to previous generations with a hard plastic casing, without any silicone tips.
The charging case has also seen a minor redesign to fit the new earbuds and features a familiar look. It also comes with MagSafe-capable hardware.
For those who often exercise with earphones, AirPods are IPX4 rated, meaning the sweat you work up, or light rainfall should not pose an issue.
Audio and Microphone
Coming to the audio experience on these new earbuds, Apple spoke about a new low distortion driver which will provide powerful bass and crisp audio at higher frequencies. This is further supported by Adaptive EQ, which will actively customize the audio profile to help you hear a song, how it’s meant to be heard by trying to combat inconsistencies due to fit.
Spatial Audio with Dynamic Head Tracking will also make its debut on the normal AirPods with this generation, meaning you will be able to make the most of Dolby Atmos soundtracks.
And focussing on microphones, Apple is once again using its dual beamforming units, which have proven themselves to be the best on the market over the last few years. Bundle this with iOS 15’s Voice Isolation feature, and others should never have an issue hearing you well on a call.
Battery Life and Charging
With the third generation, AirPods Apple provides the best endurance they ever have with the in-ear form factor. These earbuds will now last for six hours of listening on a single charge, with the case packing an additional 24 hours, making for a total of 30.
If you’re someone who takes an awful lot of calls, in that situation, the AirPods will function for 4 hours on a single charge, with the case providing an additional 16.
The earbuds charge via the case, which in turn can use the included Lightning to USB-C cable or wireless charging via the Qi or MagSafe standard.
Apple claims a quick five-minute charge will provide users with an hour of listening time or talk time.
Compatibility
The third-generation AirPods are compatible with a wide variety of Apple devices, which are listed below. Keep in mind to use these, you will need to have the devices on the latest version of their respective operating systems.

Do the AirPods 3 support Spatial Audio?
Yes, AirPods 3 support Spatial Audio and listening to Dolby Atmos-certified content.
Do the AirPods 3 have Passive Noise Isolation?
No, AirPods 3 do not have Passive Noise Isolation. This is primarily due to their hard shell design, so while putting them in your ear may block some outside sound, it is nowhere near the level of isolation you will receive with in-ear silicon tips which can form a seal against the wall of your ear canal.
Do the AirPods 3 come with a Transparency Mode?
No, AirPods 3 do not have a Transparency Mode. Their hard plastic design and lack of silicone tips are definitely the primary reasons behind its exclusion.

So, we expect similar performance here. Also, while we recommend using a wired setup, for an occasional gaming session the AirPods 3 should not pose an issue.

Can I use silicone or memory foam tips with the AirPods 3?

How to reset AirPods 3?
Check Serial Number on AirPods 3: Acquire the Serial Number from the Settings app on your iPhone or from the case and run a check on checkcoverage.apple.com. A genuine product will display accurate information, matching the day when you’ve bought your product.
Inspect Packaging: Mistakes in details are often made by counterfeit sellers, so keep an eye out for missing text, incorrect fonts, irregular spacing, and pixelated images.
Missing Functionality or Hardware Differences: Counterfeit AirPods tend to not feature every little function that Apple has designed the earbuds to perform. Check if features like Live Listen, Spatial Audio, Hey Siri function to ensure you have a genuine pair. Another aspect to keep an eye on would be to ensure the cutouts made on the device are in the right places and that the device features Apple’s Lightning Port and not micro-USB or USB-C. AirPods 3 could arrive with a water-resistance charging case

Apple’s latest earbuds were announced last Monday during the company’s Unleashed event that also revealed the new, larger, and more potent MacBook Pro laptops. The new AirPods 3 arrived with a new design and several upgrades that include Spatial Audio, IPX4 water resistance, and more. However, it seems that Cupertino forgot to mention one extra upgrade that comes with the new charging case of its latest AirPods, as it seems that the earbuds’ water resistance may also apply to their carrying case.
The new AirPods 3 feature tons of great upgrades from the regular AirPods models that are still available for purchase on Amazon, B&H, and other online stores. These wireless earphones sell for $175, which may be a tough sell, considering that the regular AirPods with a wireless charging case sell for just $160, and the more potent AirPods Pro can be purchased for $197, or less, depending on where you get them from, and the available deals.
Buying a new pair of AirPods 3 for $175 doesn’t seem to be such a compelling deal, even more so after you realize that they don’t feature active noise canceling like the Pro models that can be yours for $22 more. However, this may sound more interesting when you consider that the new AirPods feature a MagSafe charging case that also features the same IPX4 water resistance as the earbuds it carries. This would make this the first charging case to include this feature, as the case of the AirPods Pro isn’t water or sweat resistant.
In other words, your new AirPods 3 and their charging case will be able to withstand splashes of water, but they won’t hold up to water jets or water immersion. These new earbuds also feature a new feature that comes as a skin-detect sensor that allows it to detect when they’re being worn or not, while the more expensive AirPods Pro uses dual optical sensors to detect if they’re in the user’s ears.
