Published

on

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is set to declare HSC Class 12 2021 result today (Tuesday, August 3). The HSC Result 2021 will be announced online at 4pm. Marks will be based on evaluation criteria as students of the Maharashtra Board were not able to give their exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The board exams were, however, originally scheduled to take place between April 23 and May 2. Around 14 lakh students had registered for the exams.

How to check the Maharashtra Board Result 2021 online

Here are the steps on how you can check the Maharashtra Board Result 2021. Class 12 students of the Maharashtra Board can check their HSC result directly from the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) website. The board will also upload the HSC result simultaneously on other websites.

  1. Students can visit the Maharashtra site at 4pm to check their HSC result 2021. You can also alternatively get your result from the HSC result websites — hscresult.11thadmission.org.in or hscresult.mkcl.org— or the Maharashtra Result portal.
  2. After visiting any of the available websites, you will be required to enter your HSC roll number and mother’s name to access your result.
  3. Download the HSC result 2021 once it appears on the screen. You can also take a print out of the result.

Collective results of class 12 students registered for the HSC exams will be available for institutions on the Maharashtra State Board site.

You could expect some initial hiccups on the official sites given the traffic they are expected to get. Therefore, students are advised to remain calm and revisit the sites if they initially face any issues.

On Monday, Maharashtra State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad announced the schedule for the HSC result through her Twitter account. The result will be based on the preset evaluation criteria that will include the weightage of class 10 board and class 11 marks as well as class 12 internal assessments.

How to File ITR if You Missed July 31 Deadline: Penalties and All You Need to Know

Published

on

Income tax return (ITR) filing for AY 2021-22 was July 31. If you are among those who waited for the last date despite repeated reminders by the Income Tax (IT) department and then were unable to file the returns due to some unforeseeable circumstances, you need not worry. There is still time for you to file your ITR — by December 31, 2022 — but this time you will have to pay a penalty. Miss the date again and you may land in jail.

Those who missed the July 31 deadline for filing ITR can still file the belated ITR by December 31 but with a late fee. The Indian government rejected the proposal to extend the ITR filing due dates this year so you will have this second go with some financial repercussions. Under section 234F of the Income Tax Act, 1961, the taxpayer is also required to pay a penalty of up to Rs. 5,000 for delaying the ITR.

The process of filing a belated ITR is the same as filing the usual ITR. However, before you start filing a belated ITR, an individual is required to pay a late filing fee which can be paid by using challan number 280 online on the NSDL website or by visiting the bank branch. As per the law, a late filing fee of Rs 5,000 will be levied on individuals who file belated ITR whose total income exceeds Rs. 5 lakh. For those whose total income does not exceed Rs. 5 lakh, the late filing fee will be Rs. 1,000.

Furthermore, people who miss this date as well won’t be able to file the ITR unless the IT department sends a tax notice. Those who file ITR after December 31 may have to pay double the penalty, i.e., up to Rs. 10,000 after the income tax department notice. They may be prosecuted for 6 months to 7 year jail term as well. Apart from the late fee, taxpayers may also have to pay interest on the late payment of taxes.

Some taxpayers are exempted from penalty who have income less than the basic exemption amount. These are as follows:

1.) Those who are below 60 years and have a gross annual income of Rs 2.5 lakh

2.) Those who are above 60 years but below 80 years of age and have gross annual income of Rs. 3 lakh

3.) Those who are above 80 years of age and have gross income of Rs. 5 lakhs.

In order to avoid all the hassle, we recommend you file your ITR before the deadline from next time onwards. In order to file, figure out which ITR form of the four types to file ITR.

How to Transfer WhatsApp Chat Data From Android to iOS

Published

on

WhatsApp announced on Wednesday that its users will now be able to transfer their complete chat history from Android to iOS and vice-versa. This feature was initially announced last year during the Galaxy Unpacked event. Prior to it, WhatsApp users had to rely on third-party apps to transfer their chat history or just lose it while switching. The Meta-owned platform had initially made this feature available in a beta update. Unfortunately, this feature still does not transfer your WhatsApp call and payment history.

WhatsApp officially announced the release of the new migration feature via tweet. The company has updated its FAQ page to highlight the method for transferring WhatsApp chat history from Android to iOS. Users should take note of a few things before moving forward with the migration — their Android smartphone should be on Android 5 or higher and iOS 15.5 or above should be installed on their iPhone. The transfer happens wirelessly, so both of your devices should be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Furthermore, it is recommended that you connect your handsets to a power source during the migration.

During last year’s Galaxy Unpacked event, WhatsApp revealed that this new migration feature will be initially available for select Samsung smartphones. The feature was then made available to a wider userbase as part of a beta update.

How to migrate from Android to iPhone

  1. Follow the on-screen prompts after opening the Move to iOS app on your Android phone.
  2. Enter the code displayed on your iPhone on your Android phone.
  3. Tap Continue and follow the on-screen prompts.
  4. Select WhatsApp on the Transfer Data screen
  5. Tap Start on your Android phone, and wait for WhatsApp to prepare the data for export. You’ll be signed out from your Android phone once the data is prepared.
  6. Tap Next to return to the Move to iOS app.
  7. Tap Continue to transfer the data from your Android phone to your iPhone and wait for Move to iOS to confirm the transfer is complete.
  8. Install the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store.
  9. Open WhatsApp and log in using the same phone number used on your old device.
  10. Tap Start when prompted, and allow the process to complete.

You will see your chats on the new device after you complete its activation. Notably, the transferred data will not be uploaded to iCloud until you create a backup. The data will remain on your Android device until you uninstall WhatsApp or wipe your smartphone.

Things to keep in mind before transferring chat history

  • Android OS Lollipop, SDK 21 or above, or Android 5 or above installed on your Android device
  • iOS 15.5 or above installed on your iPhone
  • Move to iOS app installed on your Android phone
  • WhatsApp iOS version 2.22.10.70 or above on your new device
  • WhatsApp Android version 2.22.7.74 or above on your old device
  • Use the same phone number as your old phone on your new device
  • Your iPhone must be factory new or reset to factory settings to pair with the Move to iOS app and move data from your Android phone
  • Both of your devices must be connected to a power source
  • Both of your devices need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network or you’ll need to connect your Android device to your iPhone’s hotspot
